Tuxedo

Tuxedo is an affluent residential suburb of Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is located about seven kilometres southwest of downtown Winnipeg and borders the Assiniboine River on the north, and Assiniboine Park and Forest on the west. It is the wealthist neighbourhood in Winnipeg. Some very large houses line Wellington Crescent, which is touted as the wealthiest street in Manitoba. It meanders up to Old Tuxedo ending at the entrance to Assiniboine Park.

Osborne Village

Osborne Village is home to many of Winnipeg's emerging and well established artists. The city's first artists' collective makes its home in the Village, as well as many dance studios and venues for bands and musicians of all kinds. In the summer months you can find talented street performers all day long on the street corners playing everything from guitars and drums to violins. For the performing arts Osborne Village is home to a 235-seat rental venue with a licensed bar and patio, and a large end stage and state-of-the-art lighting system.

West End

Much of the West End has experienced a sharp renaissance in recent years. There has been a rapid increase in property values over the last decade especially in areas distant from downtown. The contrast between neighbourhoods is extreme. Armstrong's Point is one of Winnipeg's most affluent neighbourhoods and located directly to the south of the lower income West Broadway neighbourhood.

North End

The area has long been acknowledged as the most socially deprived part of the city of Winnipeg. Parts of the area, especially east of McPhillips Street and south of Mountain Avenue are marked by high drug use and its associated crime and gang violence. Since the 1980s, attempts to revitalize parts of the North End have been made with limited success. Serious concerns include crime, poverty and the deteriorating housing stock in the older parts of the area.
